RV AC Leaking Water Inside
Water dripping from your AC ceiling assembly usually means condensation isn't draining properly onto the roof, or the roof gasket has failed.
Clogged Drain Holes
RV AC units produce water (condensate) that should drip onto the roof. The drain holes in the unit's base pan can get clogged with mud or debris, causing water to pool and overflow into the air intake duct.
Loose Mounting Bolts
The AC unit is clamped to the roof by 3 or 4 long bolts accessible from inside the RV (under the air distribution box). Over time, these can vibrate loose, breaking the seal of the foam gasket. Snugging them up (do not overtighten) can often stop the leak.
Failed Roof Gasket
If tightening bolts doesn't help, the 14x14 foam gasket between the unit and the roof may be compressed or torn. A technician will need to lift the unit and replace the gasket to ensure a watertight seal.
