Water Damage in RV Front Cap
The seam where the front fiberglass cap meets the roof material is a high-stress area that takes the brunt of wind and rain while driving.
Wind-Driven Rain
At highway speeds, rain is forced into any tiny gap in the front cap molding. If the sealant is compromised, water is pushed deep into the wall structure, often causing delamination (bubbles) on the sidewalls.
Marker Lights
Don't overlook the clearance lights on the front cap. The gaskets behind these lights often dry out and fail, allowing water to enter the front cap and rot the structure from the inside out.
💡 Prevention Tips
- Check marker light lenses and gaskets for cracks.
- Inspect front cap molding sealant frequently.
